Welcome Back

Hello and the warmest welcome back to my blog, formally known as ‘Two men, a Cat and Me’.

This is the not-so- grand unveiling of my new and improved look courtesy of Zoe at Chic Sassy Designs and my new name courtesy of moi 'Makeshift Mummy – Two cats, Youngling and me'.

I feel I owe you all an explanation and it may help to get it all off my chest. I haven’t blogged in almost seven months because I felt like a fraud. I didn't feel a part of 'Two Men, a Cat and Me' as there is no longer two men, a cat and me.

In a nutshell Youngling’s daddy (Doo) moved out seven months ago after many months of arguing and crying, from both parties. It was a reasonably mutual decision and a necessary strategy at the time. I lost a lot of my true self leading up to that moment and have only just started to gain my confidence back and find my identity. I only hope that Doo can do the same.

Yes I have been hurt, sad and angry but its not about me, or Doo for that matter, its about our son - Youngling. I can no longer change for anyone else I can just be the best mother I can be to my gorgeous little boy.

This is a fresh look and a fresh start for us all. Youngling has started going to Pre-School two afternoons a week and is growing in leaps and bounds. We've redecorated and added colour back into our lives and in the process we've adopted a friends cat, Charlie aka Larley. He likes to wind up PolPol but really completes our little family.

So thank you all for being so patient with me and welcome to any new friends. I really appreciate those of you who have contacted me privately or personally over the past months. Your love and support was greatly received.

This is the first (of many) new adventures and I am glad to be back and sharing them with you.

Ever indebted

Just Kate

xx

Welcome back. I am sorry that you had to have such a rough go but you are right it is about being there for your child. Regardless of where you and his father stand with each other you have to stand together in love for him.. sending you hugs and prayers.

12 Things To Do In 2012

1. Writing Novel (then aim to send off to 12 agents/publishers).

2.Write 12 book reviews and blog them.

3.Write at least 212 blog posts (not including the book reviews).

4.Get Youngling into a good bedtime routine (which will help with speech etc).

5.Be a better Christian (read the Erasmus course book - and ask to give a reading at Church. Create a poetry book to sell - proceeds go to Church).

6. Be more charitable (help Dad at the Mind Charity Workshops).

7. Go to the Theatre and/or a concert at least once.

8.Take Youngling somewhere new on holiday (at least once UK or otherwise).

9. Spend less and save more (save up for a car or something for Youngling).

10. Spend more time with friends and family (maybe even help some achieve their dreams).

11. Do something brave/new/memorable I've never done before.

12. Be happy :-)
