Brit Mums Live Here I Come

BritMums Live! 2012

I have done it. I have booked my ticket to attend my very first bloggy conference. I am so excited and looking forward to meeting so many friends from the blogosphere in person. This is a little daunting for me at the same time but I am sure it will be great and everyone will get along just fine.

When Doo and I were together I never had the confidence to go to such an event. The only thing I managed to go to once I'd plucked up enough courage was The Marie Claire - How To Get Published Road Show. Even then I had to get my friend to tag along with me for moral support bless her.

I feel I have learnt so much over the past few years (minus my massive gap in writing due to the separation of the family etc). Not only with completing my Journalism course but also in writing reviews, and articles on my blog. I have found a great respect and admiration for many parents out there, especially in the UK, who find solace and sanity in blogging.

Now is it presumptuous of me to get a whole load of Makeshift Mummy merchandise printed up in anticipation of the event? I was thinking stationary and of course a T-Shirt or something which my logo etc?

Also what about sponsorship? Is it too early in my blogging 'career' for me to be looking for representation? Should I wait until I get there in case I meet any potential sponsors for the future? Employers if you like. Since I've never been to an event on this scale or like it before I really don't know what to expect.

Have you been to one before? Should I be nervous? Who will hold my hand? lol. Seriously if any of you are going from Near Hertfordshire then maybe we could head on down together? Let me know ;-)

Take care
Kate

Kate, I am sure you will have a ball. I am travelling from Herts on the Friday and I am speaking there which is super scary but in a nice way.

I went last year and my best advice is to chill and enjoy.

People that had only been blogign for a matter fo weeks last year got sposnorship, so there is no reasn why you should not if you want it.

On the BritMums live site there is a form to fill in about againing sponsorship http://www.britmumslive.com/2011/10/3-steps-to-getting-sponsored-for-britmums-live/ (blogger/ brand match program)

Hey Mich, Ah thank you for your encouragement. I am one of those who will fret about an event for weeks leading up to it then thoroughly enjoy it and probably bore people to tears after by raving about it non-stop. lol.

The lovely Alex has said there may be a few get-together-drinks prior to the conference so hopefully see you at one of them?! Be good to know a friendly face in amongst a crowd.
