I tried to get to know all my neighbours by inviting them round for a 'get-to-know-each-other' drink and then to several BBQ's we held in the summer but they didn't take us up on the offers.Its not like when I was a child (in the 80's-90s) where my mum could ask a neighbour to watch me for five mins while she went to the shop etc. Times have most definitely changes. People move to much nowadays and there isn't a sense of family in this community. Just because you live in the same place, it doesn't mean you are compatible or will ever be friends!
